Please note that Lewisville Municipal Court can only look up jury service for Lewisville Municipal Court.  If you received a jury summons for Denton County, you will need to contact them to get your jury service information. Use this link for information on Denton County Jury Services.

1.   I am not a resident of the city of Lewisville, Texas, and qualified to vote in the city elections under the constitution and laws of Texas. I am a resident of ____________________________________________

2.   I am not able to read or write.

3.   I have been convicted of a felony or any misdemeanor theft, or I am under indictment or legal accusation for a felony or any misdemeanor theft.

4.   I have served as a petit juror for 6 days during the last 3 months in the county or for 6 days during the last 6 months in district court. 

5.   This person is deceased. 

If you are not qualified, check the appropriate box on your jury summons, sign, and date, and return to the address shown on the top of your summons. You do not need to appear. You will not receive confirmation from Jury Services unless additional information is required.

EXEMPTIONS:

1.   I am over seventy (70) years of age.

2.   I have legal custody of a child younger than 12 years of age, and service would necessitate leaving that child without supervision, or I am the primary caretaker of a person who is unable to care for himself or herself.

3.   I am a student at a public secondary school, or I am enrolled and in actual attendance at an institution of higher learning.

4.   I am chronically ill, infirm, immobilized, or have an impairment of sight or hearing that would make it difficult or impossible for me to serve.

5.   I have served on the municipal court petit jury during the last twelve (12) months.

6.   I am an officer of the legislative branch of the state government. 

7.   I am a member of the United States military forces on active duty and deployed to a location away from the home station and outside of Dallas County.

All persons entering a courtroom shall be clean and dressed in a manner that shows dignity and respect for the court. Examples of appropriate attire:

• Slacks, non-ripped jeans and pantsuits; 
• Collared Shirts;
• Dresses and skirts.

Unacceptable attire includes: 

• Shorts or cutoffs;
• Pants worn below the waistline (drooping/saggy pants);
• Flip flop style shoes;
• T-shirts, muscle shirts, tank tops, tube tops, and halter tops;
• Athletic/gymnasium attire;
• Caps and hats; 
• Clothing indicating gang affiliation or containing offensive, vulgar, racist, sexist, or obscene language;
• Shirts that are not tucked in.

There is a metal detector and x-ray machine at the entrance to the court building. Any item building security believes can be used as a weapon will not be allowed.

The types of cases you will hear are class C misdemeanors. Examples but not limited to: code violations, speeding tickets, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and unrestrained animals.

Yes, jurors that are not disqualified or exempt and serve on a jury panel will receive a check for $6.00 via mail for their service.
